Maddie 2 1/2 : Maddie is getting so big!! she is the best big sister and helper around the house! She is wearing panties and has done really well with potty training. a few fun things to remember :)
- she tells me her princesses are proud of her (the princesses on her panties.. for not peeing in them :)
- loves to go swimming
- talks about disneyland daily (i think disneyland made a huge impact on her life :)
- crawls into our bed in the middle of the night EVERY day.... i've given up!
- when she goes potty she wants us to "close the door and lock it and close it and lock it"
- LOVES to talk on the phone and throws a fit when i don't let her answer it
- is still the world's best snuggler
- loves to go to nursery and is doing well to stay in there alone now ... yay!
- sings all the time... abc's, sunbeam, happy birthday, annie song 'tommorow', alligator,etc...
- tells me she wub's (loves) me often
- is daddy's little buddy and wants to help him with whatever he is doing!
- lately if something is broken then she says " it's okay mommy, daddy will fix it "
- says the all time cutest prayers all by herself!! she thanks heavenly father for mommy daddy and mia and blesses the food and sometimes adds something more... she will always remind us at meal time if we've forgotten :)
Mia 6 months: Mia is growing up fast too.. she is so sweet and such a good baby!! some fun things about mia are...
- she can sit up by herself for a few seconds to a minute at a time...
- she has two teeth and is drooling like mad so i think she might be teething.
- she likes to talk and make noises
- she laughs in the tub when maddie splashes around
- eats baby food twice a day and loves it!!
- is trying hard to feed baby puffs to herself... and succeeds sometimes :)
- doesn't like to snuggle because she wants to see everything thats going on
- loves to read books with maddie
- she loves to play with our faces :)

Every year i take trip to california with my girls and we spend two weeks together with my mom :) we always have soooo much fun and this year was no exception!! we always do the same fun things with a few variations... but here is a quick summary :) we shopped, ate out, went to disneyland (twice), sewed, watched movies, ate golden spoon (mmm), played games, went to the beach, swam in the pool, stayed up late and talked in bed, and did whatever we felt like doing !! i had a fun night out with my sister-in-law Laura where we went out for dinner at the melting pot and some shopping after... sooo fun! i got to see my friend stephanie pinkham who was my best friend in high school... it was fun to meet up with her since it's been like 6 years since i saw her! i also had tons of fun at the beach with my brother... we got to play in the ocean!! here are some pix from the trip :)
Going to Disneyland... such a process with two kids and two strollers, but worth it!

we didn't get the chance to do our own fireworks on the fourth of july so we decided to have a spectacular firework show with the Jensens :) As you can tell the girls LOVED it, and as you can tell so did I :)
During the day we went to a little carnival ... the girls got to color a balloon, get their face painted, do a bean bag toss, fish for a prize, and eat shaved ice! I absolutely love this picture because i think it captures maddie's sassy personality! she stood in this stance for about a minute just waiting for her photo shoot to be done.... what a goober!
we had a killer lightning storm the other night... i have NEVER seen anything like it before! it lasted for a pretty long time and it was steady streaks of lightning all over the sky... we caught one picture, but it doesn't do it justice!

We went for a bike ride the other day to maverick and we laughed all the way home because of this sight.... Shawn always ends up as the pack horse :) Maddie in the trailer, Mia in the Bjorn, Shawn on the Bike, and two dogs to top it off.... i really enjoyed the leisurely ride and shawn enjoyed his awesome work out!
We love to play in maddie's room every night... we read books, do puzzles, dance , and whatever else. i just thought this was super cute... i came in and shawn was reading a book with maddie in the rocker, and the best part is where he propped up Mia.... can you see? she's using Theo as a pillow :)

Here is a quick snipit that our friends scott and brittany took while we were at their house , of Mia laughing.... it was so cute and she did this for about 10 minutes... her sister and daddy can really get her going :) you can't really tell but she was getting all red in the face because she was laughing so hard ...

I have been going to lake tahoe with my family since i was a baby. it was always something to look forward to each summer. So now that i have a family of my own i want to share it with them. we love to go to tahoe and camp at our favorite spots, spend the day at our favorite beaches, and a family tradition is to get a loaf of french bread and butter at raley's supermarket :) we made sure to do all these things and we had a great week spent with family :)

Our second day we went to sand harbor... Beautiful!!!! daddy amd maddie had fun playing in the sand...

grandma, grandpa, and mia
We had such a fun fourth of july this year! we began our trip to Lake Tahoe by spending a few days with grandma and grandpa in Elko. We woke up early saturday morning and ran a 5K
:) It was really fun to run a race together! Then we all got cleaned up to go to the parade. Maddie had so much fun waving to everybody and she collected a huge bag of candy!! We then had a BBQ at home and went down town to see the fireworks... We thought maddie would love them but she was just scared and nuzzling into grandma's neck the whole time... until she fell asleep :) oh well, we enjoyed them :) Fun filled day!

Grandma "mama" came to visit this past week and we have had a blast! Maddie just adores her mama... they play, shop, nap, swim, sleep, clean, watch movies, and sing together :) and mia loves to be cuddled by her....
Maddie was sleeping ON the couch today and after we ate dinner this is how we found her.... She had fallen off! ouchie, but she didn't seem to mind... she slept right through it :)

Addie came over to play the other day and they had so much fun playing in maddie's kitchen :) They are so funny when they get together, they get silly ideas and just love to laugh and play together :)
Mia tried rice cereal for the first time the other day! I can't believe she is getting so big so quickly! She seemed to like it okay, but i think she needs a little time to get used to it because she didn't down it like i thought she would :) Maybe some pears would help it go down a little easier :)
